About Evolución Animal

Evolución Animal A.C. is a registered non-profit organization that opened in 2005. We provide care to over 450 dogs and 250 cats in the south of Mérida, close to Umán. Evolución is not only a shelter, but a sanctuary for abused and mistreated dogs and cats. It is a home for the “malix pek” (mixed breed / street dogs) who are less likely to be adopted simply because they are not a designer breed. In Evolución these dogs have a home.

Together with the help of donors like you, Evolución’s goal is to continue to promote the wellbeing of our habitat and its animals; to protect and speak out against cruelty and violence, and to cultivate respect and appreciation for every living creature.
